Time for prayer will be offered before we head to Mukhraka, where the Carmelite Order began after Elijah confronted the false prophets of Baal. Our next stop will be in Nazareth (Luke1:26-38), where we will visit three historical places: Basilica of the Annunciation, Mary’s Well, Church of the Angel Gabriel. Next, we head to Cana (John 2:1-11, 4:46, 21:2), where Jesus changed water to wine, performing his first miracle. During Holy Mass in either Cana or Nazareth, our pilgrim couples will be able to renew their wedding vows. Overnight accommodations will either be in Nazareth or Tiberias.
A scenic boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, where Christ walked on water will be our start to the day. We will visit many holy sites. We will visit the synagogues and St. Peter’s house where Jesus stayed while ministering here. Mount of Beatitudes: The Sermon on the Mount was given here and we will enjoy an unforgettable Mass at the Primacy of Mt Beatitudes by the shores of the Sea of Galilee. Tabgha: We will commemorate the miracle of loaves and fishes with a visit to a splendid mosaic. After a drive to Mt. Tabor, we will celebrate Mass in the breathtaking small church on the mountain where the scene of the Transfiguration took place. Holy Mass will be given in either Capernaum or Mt. Tabor. After breakfast, our journey will head us to Jerusalem with many stops on the way. A drive through Jordan Valley and a visit to Baptism at Qasr El Yahud, the site of the first baptism and also where John baptized Jesus. Next up is Jericho, the oldest inhabited city in the world; the ancient Canaanite city destroyed by God (Josh: 5-6) It’s here where we will enjoy an awe inspiring view of Mt. Temptation (Luke4:1-13). This is the spot Jesus was tempted by Satan. Our next stop is where the Dead Sea scrolls were discovered, where we will have time for a swim in the mineral-rich waters in Qumran. A stop at Bethany (John 11:41-44) where Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead will be the final destination before traveling to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight accommodations. Holy Mass will be given in either Tiberius or Bethany.
