Next, we will drive north along the coast through Via Maris, to the ancient ruins of Caesarea, which was built for Augustus Caesar by Herod the Great. Onward, we will visit the ruins of Megiddo, the place in which the Book of Revelation speaks of the great battle at “Armageddon”, where an ancient city blossomed for more than 5,000 years (6000-500 B.C.) After this, we will begin driving toward the Sea of Galilee, but first, we will stop by the site of a famous wedding. In Cana, we will explore the Church where Jesus’ first miracle was performed, in which he turned water into wine. Finally, we will arrive at your hotel in the city of Tiberias to rest for the evening.

Continue to Tabgha, where Jesus performed the miraculous feeding of 5,000 people with 5 loaves of bread and two fish. We will visit the Church of Multiplication, where you can gaze upon the mosaic floor which depicts the miracle. Then we will see the Church of the Primacy of St. Peter, where Jesus reinstated St. Peter as the chief among the disciples. Next, we will visit the site of the “Sermon on the Mount”. We will overlook the birds-eye view of the Mt. Hermon peaks and the Golan plateau. Then we will head to the foot of Mt. Hermon to visit Banias (Caesarea Philippi), which is one of the main sources of the Jordan River. In this location, Jesus brought his disciples to reveal His purpose and His Church before his final journey to Jerusalem. It is also where Simon recognized Jesus as the Messiah. From here we will drive to the southern region of the Sea of Galilee at the entrance to the Jordan River to visit the Yardenit Baptismal Site. It is here that Yardenit became the first regulated baptismal site on the Israeli side of the Jordan River. Then we will return to Tiberias for another night on the town.

If weather permits, bring your swimsuit for a dip in the Sea where the salt and minerals make you float on the water. Travel back to Jerusalem for the night.
The day starts at the Israel Museum’s Shrine of the Book with a glimpse of the Dead Sea Scrolls followed by a trip to the renovated model of the Herodian city of Jerusalem which dates back to the Second Temple. Visit Ein Karem, the lovely village in the southwest outskirts of Jerusalem that is significant in Christian traditions as the place of John the Baptist’s birth. The Church of the Holy Sepulchre includes the traditional site of the Crucifixion and the Tomb of the Resurrection. Outside the Old City to the southwest lies Mount Zion where sits the tomb of King David and the Room of the Last Supper. While on the top of the Mount of Olives, experience a panoramic view of Jerusalem, the holy city for the world’s three largest religions—Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. Begin the day with a drive to Mount Nebo, where Moses witnessed the Promised Land. See the Jordan Valley, Jericho, and the Dead Sea. We move through the Desert Highway to Wadi Musa, a village of Petra. In the city of Petra, you can walk or ride on horseback to the “Siq,” a canyon. Move through the canyon to the red rock city of the ancient capital of the Nabateans who existed there from the 3rd century B.C. to the 2nd century A.D. We will see the carved monuments of the Treasury, or El Khazne, the tomb of a Nabatean king, as well as the field of tombs, obelisks, the altar and more. Return to Wadi Musa and check-in to your hotel in Petra.
Drive south to the majestic mountains and stunning rock formations of Wadi Rum, which once mesmerized Lawrence of Arabia. Go on a Jeep safari of the desert landscape, finding the Lawrence Spring and Khazali Canyon.
