This morning, our expert guide will lead you on a captivating sightseeing tour of Athens. You’ll pass by iconic landmarks such as the Panathenaic Stadium, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Hadrian’s Arch, the Parliament, the memorial of the Unknown Soldier, the Academy, the University, the National Library, and Constitution Square (Syntagma). Following this, your tour will continue with a visit to the Acropolis, a timeless symbol of democracy, education, and inspiration. The day concludes with a visit to the impressive Acropolis Museum, which includes entrance fees. You’ll have the afternoon to explore at your own pace.
The Delphi adventure begins with a bus tour after breakfast. This tour, which includes entrance fees, explores Delphi, known as the ancient Greece oracle and the world’s center. Nestled on Mount Parnassus, it boasts stunning scenery and the ruins of the Apollo Pythius Sanctuary. Highlights include the Treasury of the Athenians, the Theatre, the Stadium, and the Museum, featuring notable pieces like the Antinoos statue, a remarkable bronze Charioteer statue from 475 B.C., and the renowned athlete Aghias. Our lunch stop will be in the charming modern village of Delphi, and we’ll return to Athens in the late evening.
Embark on a coastal journey along the Saronic Gulf towards the Corinth Canal, which connects between the Aegean and Ionian Seas (brief stop). Continue to Mycenae, the legendary city of the Atreides and an ancient place “abounding in gold” as described by poets. Explore iconic sites like the Lion’s Gate, Cyclopean Walls, and Royal Tombs. Next, head to Nauplion through the lush Argolis plain, a charming town nestled beneath the imposing Palamidi Fortress (quick photo stop). Continue to Epidauros to marvel at the 4th-century B.C. Theatre renowned for its incredible acoustics. Enjoy lunch in Mycenae and return to Athens via the National road connecting Epidauros and Corinth.
