All these and much more with the 8-day northern Italy tour you’ll never forget.
Upon arrival to Lake Maggiore, you will transfer independently to the hotel for overnight.
Meet your guide at the pier of Stresa and start your boat excursions to the charming Isola Pescatori and the intriguing Isolabella. Indulge in the perfect natural beauty of the Borromean Gulf, sprinkled with gorgeous little mainland towns like Baveno and Stresa, where an exquisite mix of luxury and elegance will catch your eyes. The excursion to these three delightful islands will allow you to admire an unparalleled combination of natural wonder and refinement, as well as amaze your eyes with the lovely views of the green hills and picturesque villages surrounding the lake. Return to Lake Maggiore for overnight.
Spend a relaxing day on the shore of spectacular Lake Maggiore or adventure yourself into discovering the region. Whatever you choose, this Italian oasis will immerse your day in natural beauty and luxurious treats from all the quirky shops you will find in the villages. Head towards the Monferrato region if you want to pamper your taste buds with a delectable wine tasting session. Or, choose Zermatt as your destination and let the serene and dreamy Swiss alpine landscapes spoil your eyes. At the end of the day, return to Lake Maggiore for overnight.
Wake up to a delicious breakfast before driving from Stresa to Como. On the way, stop in Milan for an exciting exploration on your own. Enjoy discovering this bustling European city known for fashion, design, and richness, but also its history, culture, and mouthwatering culinary experiences. Admire Leonardo’s Last Supper at The Church of Santa Maria Delle Grazie, see the imposing Duomo, the remarkable white marbled cathedral located in the city center and dedicated to the Birth of the Virgin Mary. After an authentic Milan experience, continue to Lake Como for overnight.
Start your day with a private walking tour of the city of Como. The city of Como provides the drastic pleasure of a historical art capital and a whirlwind of activity consistent with modern times. After your walk, you will receive a ticket to take a Vaporetto to Bellagio to enjoy such sites as the Alps and the gardens surrounding chateaus on the shores of the lake. Bellagio, the pearl of Lake Como, is known for its narrow, cobblestone lanes turning into opulent hotels and splendid shopping. While in Bellagio, you will experience its ancient flavor by visiting the 12th-century Romanesque Cathedral dedicated to San Giacomo. Before retiring for the night on Lake Como, you may explore the 18th and 19th-century manors of Villa Serbelloni and Melzi.
How about a day on a high-speed train transporting you to Verona? This expedition will end at Lake Garda, known for Sirmione’s Harbor, the site where Ezra Pound wrote to James Joyce in 1921. Pound was enamored by the views of Sirmone’s Harbor and wanted to share that experience with Joyce. Lake Garda supplies all of the best to you. Beaches, vineyards, nature reserves, lush greens, and boat landings. Lake Garda sits between the Alps and the Po River Plain and boasts beautiful weather and ideal water temperatures. Lake Garda also houses exquisite wines and olive oil. The coast is peppered with small towns, castles from medieval times, churches that ensconce the Romanesque architecture, and fishing boats surrounded by foliage that will capture the hearts of its visitors. Spend some of your free time inspecting Verona and Garda Lake which leads to visiting Malcesine, Desenzano, and Garda before spending the night in Sirmione.
The final full day of this magnificent tour is an individual delight. Enjoy restful repose or exploration of Garda Lake. This is a day to catch up on your sleep, see missed sites, or set out for your own adventure of this enamoring lake. Your final night will be enjoyed in Sirmione.
After the adventures and breathtaking sites, you will individually depart with stories, memories, and artifacts of the time spent in Italy and the Alps.
