Itinerary

Welcome to Milan! Upon arrival at Malpensa Airport, our driver will warmly greet you for a private transfer to your hotel. At 14:00, a knowledgeable local guide will meet you for a captivating three-hour walking tour through Milan’s heart, starting at via Spallanzani and leading to the historic Porta Venezia (Venice Gate). Discover its medieval and possibly Roman origins, intertwined with the urban legend of “Porta Renza” from Alessandro Manzoni’s “The Betrothed.” The journey continues through Corso Venezia, Giardini Indro Montanelli, and past the Galleria d’Arte Moderna along Viale Manzoni. The tour culminates at the Milan Cathedral and Castello Sforzesco. Enjoy a delightful aperitivo near the castle, followed by free time to explore Milan independently before an overnight stay.

Experience an extraordinary day on the Bernina Express, known as the “train that serpentines its way to the mountain summits.” Your seat on this iconic train becomes a stage for unparalleled views, offering a breathtaking journey reminiscent of a captivating theater performance. More than a mode of transportation, the Bernina Express is a century-old piece of history and a UNESCO World Heritage train.

After a breakfast, start your Bernina Express adventure with our dedicated driver to Tirano. Traverse one of the world’s most stunning railway routes, featuring unparalleled Alpine vistas, during the approximately two-hour journey to St. Moritz. Wind through the Alps, passing picturesque tunnels and charming villages, with highlights unfolding before your eyes.

Upon arrival in St. Moritz, explore the elegant town at your leisure. Later, meet your driver for the return journey to Milan, where you’ll enjoy an overnight stay.

Enjoy a hotel breakfast before a day of exploration. Start with a quick visit to Como, known for its proximity to Lake Como and the Alps. Experience breathtaking views of the lake and alpine valleys. Take a scenic boat ride to Bellagio, a charming town nestled between Lake Como’s southern arms, surrounded by the Alps. Explore Bellagio’s captivating landscapes, winding streets, luxury hotels, villas, and gardens. Enjoy a free time for lunch (not included) at a local restaurant. Board your vessel for Tremezzo and Villa Carlotta, then head to Bergamo. Check in at your Bergamo hotel for a dinner and a restful overnight stay, preparing you for the adventures ahead.

Continue your Italian journey with a captivating exploration of Lake Garda, the country’s largest and most renowned lake. Start your day with breakfast at your Bergamo hotel and embark on a panoramic tour of the lake’s western coast to marvel at the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Brenta Dolomites and the Moraine Hills of Lower Garda. Immerse yourself in lush vegetation adorned with lemon trees, oleanders, magnolias, and bougainvillea. Enjoy locally-produced olive oil and wines. Move on to Sirmione for the most enchanting side of Lake Garda, with the sun’s golden reflection dancing on the sapphire waters. Explore Sirmione Castle, Catullus’s villa ruins, and the Grottoes of Catullus, rich in history dating back to the 1st-century BC poet Catullus. After your Sirmione adventure, savor a leisurely lunch and head to the charming town of Riva del Garda on the northern shores of Lake Garda. Explore its Venetian-style historical center before settling in Bergamo for a delightful dinner and a restful overnight stay.

After a breakfast, explore the captivating city of Verona, an open-air museum blending classical and Germanic influences. A local expert will guide you through its rich history, revealing Roman origins, medieval architecture, Renaissance palaces, and formidable fortifications. Discover the art and history that define Verona, home to two of Shakespeare’s plays, including the renowned “Romeo and Juliet.” Visit Juliet’s medieval residence on Via Cappello, with its iconic balcony. After Verona, head to Franciacorta, known for its grape-friendly soil. Enjoy a light lunch and wine tasting of regional delicacies. Finally, return to Milan for your last overnight stay, cherishing the memories of your remarkable journey.

On your final day of the adventure, enjoy a breakfast before saying arrivederci to Milan. Your airport transfer awaits, signaling the conclusion of your unforgettable Italian journey.
